The UASC International Learning Center (Model Institution)

Since 2014, we’ve been deeply involved with the UASC International Learning Center, providing ongoing consultation, training, and instruction. As a “Model Institution,” UASC embodies the values and vision of The Uhuru Academy. We’ve helped guide its growth through staff training, Black History instruction, and curriculum development. Our family currently lives on campus, with our three youngest children attending the school. In addition to our hands-on role in daily operations, we continue to provide consultation and support as we raise funds to further enhance the school’s impact.   (www.uascinternational.com)

UACI STEM Camp

The UACI STEM Camp, a collaboration between The Uhuru Academy and Conscious Ingenuity, has successfully run for three years. Focused on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, the camp provides youth with exposure to STEM careers while incorporating an Afrikan-centered approach to education. We are proud to be partnered with the CAP Center at Morgan State University, which has supported the program through sponsorship. Together, we empower youth to develop critical thinking skills and explore potential future pathways in STEM industries. (www.uacistemcamp.com)

SC Juneteenth Freedom Fest

For over five years, we’ve partnered with the SC Juneteenth Freedom Fest, which celebrates Black liberation through cultural events, community workshops, and youth engagement. As the Board President of the Freedom Fest, we’ve helped this week-long event grow into a central force for Black culture and economic development in the region. With a focus on building community, promoting Black-owned businesses, and uplifting Black youth, the festival is a core part of our work in celebrating Juneteenth and its historical significance to Black liberation.
