Hekima Shule
Welcome to the Hekima Program at The Uhuru Academy’s UA Online Private School, where high school students embark on an educational journey steeped in Afrikan wisdom and global awareness. Our program for grades 9 through 12 is designed to prepare young adults for higher education, leadership, and impactful contributions to society, all through an Afrikan-centered lens.
Our curriculum extends beyond conventional subjects to include advanced studies in Afrikan history, politics, economics, and social issues. This comprehensive approach ensures students are well-versed in global perspectives with a strong emphasis on Afrikan heritage and worldview.
A key component of the Hekima Program is the development of critical thinking and independent research skills. Students undertake capstone projects and in-depth research assignments that challenge them to analyze, synthesize, and present on complex topics.
The arts play a significant role in our program, providing a platform for students to explore and express their cultural identity. This includes music, visual arts, literature, and performing arts, all of which celebrate Afrikan creativity and heritage.
Our program emphasizes the cultivation of leadership qualities and a strong sense of social responsibility. Through community service projects, leadership workshops, and student-led initiatives, students learn the value of positive social impact and community leadership.
We provide robust preparation for college and future careers. This includes college counseling, assistance with application processes, SAT/ACT preparation, and guidance on scholarship opportunities. We also offer career exploration activities and mentorship programs to help students identify and pursue their passions.
Recognizing the importance of global interconnectivity, our program includes opportunities for international virtual exchanges, guest lectures from global thinkers, and discussions on current global issues from an Afrikan perspective.
The Time is nowÂ
Enrolling in the Hekima Program means joining a community dedicated to academic excellence, cultural pride, and the development of the whole person. As we prepare our students for the world beyond high school, we remain committed to nurturing their connection to Afrikan heritage and their role as global citizens.
